In this post, I'll show how to unpack an .img file which is necessary when you wish to change something in your phone's android firmware or some process similar.
lets get started ...
Java Runtime Environment ( JRE ) size : varies with WINDOWS version . MIRROR
Linux Reader Software Mirror size :[ 19.6 MB ]
sgs2toext4.jar Application size : [ 19 KB ]
Instructions -
1) Install JRE and Linux Reader Software .
2) Open sgs2toext4.jar and Drag and Drop the .img file into the window.
3) Wait for it to display the text done.
4) Now there will be a .ext4.img file in the directory where the original .img file is located.
5) Now open LinuxReader Application and click on Drives Menu in the Toolbar and click on the Mount Image Option in the Menu that appears ( You can also press Ctrl + M ).
6) Select Raw Disk Images and click on Next .
7) Select the .et4.img file and press Open.
8) Now a new disk drive will appear with the .img file's name. Open it.
9) Now the contents of the .img file will be displayed.
10) Select The Folders/Files You wish to extract and click on the save button in the toolbar or in the right click menu and save it to the desired path .
11) Thats it. You have extracted the comtents of a .img file.
